I was in the post office this morning - posting a couple of parcels of
books and most of my overseas Christmas cards.
My books parcels each weighed just over 2Kg, but being printed papers
they can go up to 5Kg. The postage on the airmail parcel to Australia
was GBP 21.06. The woman in front of me had a similar weight parcel
for NZ, ie just over 2Kg, but because it was general items (small
Christmas pressies) it was too big to go as a small packet and had to
be a parcel, and it cost her GBP 48.00 Ouch!!! She said she going on
holiday this evening and just didn't have time to re-pack it as two
smaller parcels.
