I've been doing that for years when it's been called for, mainly tocorrect
things that annoy me, but it does also save paper..
Most common:
When I've typed a letter and only "Yours whatever...." and my name go over
onto a second page, I reduce side and top margins so it fits on one page.
If I decide to keep tips from Arachne, eg on making leaves. I don't like one
tip to run onto another page, so I rearrange them and reduce margins so this
doesn't happen.
I also sometimes reduce the font size as well, so that I can get more on one
page
When grouping pictures on one page, I reduce margins so that I can get each
picture as large as possible.
