There's a steam railway in Dorset at Swanage. It's only a few miles long, but it attracts huge numbers of visitors each year. The trip out and back on it is about an hour. If they were allowed to do it, it could be connected to the main lines that go all over the country. It's run by volunteers.

There are other volunteer groups around the country who restore and run steam trains with the old-style carriages. Means anyone who wants to can fulfil their childhood dream by joining one of these groups and become an engine driver.
