Hi all This thread reminded me of a now infamous family story regarding 23 year old DD, then aged 10 or 11.
I had gone along to the regular parents evening as usual, and seated on one of the chairs set out for waiting parents, I noticed that my daughters form teacher kept giving me the odd surreptitious look every now and again. My presence clearly seemed to be distracting her chat with the other parents who were scheduled before me. My turn came and I was chatting about Sarah's progress, but the teacher still seemed to be looking at me in a rather "odd" manner. Eventually, the teacher turned the discussion round to my occupation, so I proceeded to tell her that I was currently working for English Nature as a species protection warden for the summer - I was monitoring rare bird species such as bittern, marsh harrier, bearded tits and little terns etc on a nearby nature reserve. The look of relief on her face as she burst out laughing was an absolute picture. It transpired that my DD's class had been talking about the various occupations of their parents, when DD's turn came and she was asked "What job does your mum do Sarah?" Dear Sarah replied quite proudly, "My mum's a NATURIST!" Need I say more!!!!!!!!! PS Antje in Spain, I have tried to contact you but my message was returned, I think the e.address I have may be an old one. Can you make contact with me off line please.
