Googling "walking slowly burns more calories" definitely leads to
mixed opinions!
However, I would suggest that the reason walking much more slowly
than usual makes us more tired is that it throws us off our stride,
requiring constant muscular readjustment. Used to drive me crazy
shopping - because I could walk openly for an hour just fine, but
strolling through a mall (or a museum), my legs and feet would get
painfully tired. (Now I avoid the issue by shopping on line as much
as possible.)
