We had a power cut from 1:34am - 3:06pm yesterday - overhead power lines down.  
It went off after we'd gone to bed, and was not back on again until mid 
afternoon.  We do have some solar lights in the garden but they didn't come on 
in the bright sunshine ;(

Terry managed to boil some water using a blow-lamp so we had a couple of hot 
drinks and we had a battery radio, but nothing else.  Without wif-fi I had no 
internet - the mobile signal here is rubbish and the iPad 3G didn't get a 
signal, so I missed the diving semi-final but I did see the Finals.  Well done 
to David Boudia and especially to 18 year old Tom Daley.
