I've not made this with cake mix, but I do like the idea of having the
mix all ready to make the cake in only a few minutes. This is the
recipe we use - it's been a family favourite for many years
4tbsp self raising flour
4 tbsp caster sugar
2tbsp cocoa powder
1 egg
3tbsp milk
3tbsp vegetable oil
few drops vanilla essence
Optional - 2 tbsp chocolate chips
Put dry ingredients into a large mug.
Mix in the egg, but don't worry if there's still some dry mix left.
Add other liquid ingredients and mix until smooth.
Add chocolate chips if using.
Cook on high, in the middle of the microwave for about 3 1/2 minutes.
If it is not firm to touch, cook for up to 1 1/2 minutes more, in 30
second bursts.
