I have been asked whether the jingles (or gingles) found on some old bobbins in either pewter or wood, had
any meaning at all.
e.g. 1 jingle means .....; 2 jingles means ... etc.
I did found a small articcle in Chiristine Springett's booklet on "Spangles and Superstitions", but that's all.

Any help or enlightenment out there?

Agnes Boddington (UK) - who cannot talk, flu has blocked me up completely, and the family must think that's a
blessing.
Cannot taste/smell anything either, but still had to do all the Christmas cooking and clearing up!
