Especially when it comes to guessing what the weather might be like in
Michigan. I looked up the Detroit climate page for April (temperatures in
Fahrenheit):

Anything from lows in the teens to highs in the 80s (-10 C to around 27 C).
I'd say his best bet would be to check the Detroit Airport weather station
