Hi everyone, When I got home from lace conference, I found a package in the mail. It contained 3 books and a letter--as follows:
"Last week we visited the Textile Museum in Tillamook. We especially enjoyed the lace exhibit. When I came to this country I brought along these three books which belonged to my aunt. They are written in French......." The books are: Motifs de Broderie Copte, 2me, Partie, par TH. de Dillmont. Code number 230. Le Filet-Richelieu, par Th. de Dillmont. Code number 830. La Broderie sur Lacis, 1re Serie, par Th. de Dillmont. Code 625. What a treasure!! Does anyone know of English translations to these? Though I can figure out alot of it just from the illustrations. And do I remember correctly, from the discussion several months ago, that the code numbers place these books to 1925 and 1930? (PS -- she also has some lace that she would like to give me. How lucky can a person be!!!!! All that hard work on the lace exhibit is reaping an interesting dividend.) Happy lacing, Alice in Oregon - Lace exhibit - May & June, Tillamook Oregon.
