Travel pillows are the answer for some people. There are many styles and
forms of them. Mine is a roller pillow. The pillow measures 12" by 11-1/2".
The roller is 3" wide and 3" diameter. It is good for yardage lace, up to
2". The limitation is more on the number of bobbins that will fit on the
very small working surface. I think 10-12 pair is the limit. I usually
make about 1" wide lace on it.

This pillow has a separate carrying bag, made to shape and zipped closed.
It has a long strap to carry like a purse. The bag has one zipped pocket
in it for tools, bobbins, thread, etc.

This pillow goes to meetings and conferences where I spend alot of time
sitting and listening to speakers. Hotel conference rooms have tables
for everyone. I choose the back row so I won't distract other people
from the speaker, and quietly work away. At breaks, I get the normal
questions -- What are you doing? etc. <G>

This pillow may also go to the car repair shop, medical office, church,
or any place that I have to wait for a length of time.

Because my fingers don't handle small bobbins well, I use standard Midlands
bobbins on this pillow. I admit that the spangles sort of hang off the
edge but they still work. Next time I should wind continentals for it,
or square bobbins. They might fit better. <G>
