Hi everyone and Julie

Your 19" cookie will be fine - from where it is now, you can lift your
lace carefully, don't take the pins all the way out of the pricking. After
loosely placing the bobbins in a folded cover cloth, and pinned (like a
bag), ease the pins + pricking off the pillow, and ease the unit more into
the centre of your pillow. Ease the pins and pricking into the pillow
(yeh, it's ease-y!!). If you are doing a hanky edge, figure on placing
the corner at the centre, move the unit as you run out of room for your
bobbins, unless you want to increase the 'apron' or pillow surface with
something temporary (such as a folded towel, or shaped styrofoam). Move
for each corner. You can build a tiny incline with craft foam or felt, to
slip under the ending part of the pricking (before you move) such that the
pins and pricking are into the foam, but not the pillow itself, then slide
the work to a better position on the pillow for the next corner. Yes, you
would have more copies of the pricking at the ready.

I am working a hanky edge in this manner, and have turned the third corner
- and I've convinced myself that though working in this way is possible, a
block pillow would be more fun, and less fiddly.

Hope this helps,

bye for now
