Concerning very large pillows.
I have made many of my pillows. You won't believe what I have used. I have
gone to garage sales and picked up old battered surf boards and cut them up
for pillows. I put a few layers of 100% wool blankets that I had cut up,
that had been washed and shrunk, and then cover that with a good firm cotton
cloth covering.

In some areas there are places where you can buy large sheets of "ecofoam"
(I'm not sure of the spelling). You do have to buy a large quantity. In
the past our guild had bought some and we divided up the cost among some of
us and made our own pillows. I made a large square pillow with a couple
rectangle side pillows extensions. When I need extra pillow space I could
use double pointed metal knitting needles (sturdy ones) to join the
extensions on. Just don't put any pressure on the extension. I think it
would be kinda hard to add an extension to a cookie pillow. You probably
could use styrofoam for the extensions as you wouldn't be pinning into the
extensions, they would be used for the bobbins to lay on. Remember, where
there's a will, there's a way.
