I recently bought a book on Bulgarian needlelace, so your daughter might find some if she's in the country. The needlelace was the knotted kind, like Armenian and Turkish needlelace, except without the oyas. It was closer to Greek forms, IIRC. There were also some nice examples of crocheted lace.
