Hi Liz (and anybody else interested) I have a pair of bobbins painted with nail polish, one lilac, one blue with matching-coloured beads in the spangles which look really pretty. They were sent to me by a Secret Pal so I don't know how many coats of varnish were used, but I use them regularly and they are still in the pristine condition they were in when I received them quite a long time (2/3 years?) ago. Joan from a cold and frosty Yorkshire but thankful not to be living near Alice with the horific weather they are experiencing.
