Hi All,

Regarding mounting, as a lace tutor, I have always been a bit circumspect as
to whom I tell about my peccadilloes - namely, the mounting of some of my
lace by a machine! - but since the last issue of 'Lace', I am not ashamed
any more!

Many years ago, I finished a lace handkerchief edging at a group meeting of
the Gipping Valley Lace Makers (based in Stowmarket, in Suffolk UK) and was
bemoaning the fact that it would now take me ages to mount. One of the
other members then volunteered to do it for me. Well - I couldn't hand the
hankie over quickly enough, and it was only later when she told me that it
would be done by machine! At that point, it was to late to grab the hankie
back, so the mounting was done - with a zigzag stitch, by a machine.

And I am happy to say that it was wonderful! *Far, far better* than I
could have achieved with hand-sewing, so I am now converted to a machine
attaching the lace to the linen. And after the article in Lace, I now know
that I am not on my own, too.....
