I tried it with "Amy" (a bookmark from the IOLI bulletin a couple of years ago), using one of those (#20?) crochet/tatting threads against tatting cotton (#80). Except for where I forgot once to twist (just now discovered it--oops), I don't see anywhere I'd want it to have an extra twist. And this pattern has the gimp doubling back and forth a whole lot. Maybe needing an extra twist at direction changes depends on the thread used. I can send a picture to anyone who wants to see for themselves. Robin P.
