Ah, well there's the difference, the cord I've made and used for Romanian is not round. It is flat, think ribbon shape. The sides of the ribbon have a series of little loops along them. These loops will move apart or scrunch up so that the cord can be forced into extremely sharp angles while staying flat. The cord does have some depth, but the depth is maybe only 20-25% of the width. This sort of cord can be crossed with only a modest bulge. I suspect that there are several sorts of similar cord around that have been used for Romanian, and that you are familiar with a different one. One advantage of the sort I learnt is that it can be unraveled from either end, very handy when finishing off a motif with an end to end join. -- What is youth except a man or a woman before it is ready or fit to be seen?
