Hi everyone A 'dishrag' or however you wring a cloth (= twist it) is 'un torchon' yes, but I like to think that 'Torchon' lace is derived from the french 'la torsion' = (the) twisting.
I'm sure that the lace we call Torchon has been around since lace erupted into its making. It would be interesting to find out when the style of lace was assigned this name.
