Dear spiders Thank you to all who answered. Your views has confirmed many of my own.
One of the reasons I asked was because of the frustration I see at workhops offered at our guild. I would like to put something in the newsletter that is positive and encouraging to the teachers who offer their time and expertise but also put the participants in the clear as what could generally be expected. To put the record straight on the classes I take. The teacher has become a good friend over the years. For me the class time is uninterrupted time to make lace without feeling guilty about something else that should be done. No pressure just enjoyment. One can learn a lot from books but being able to share either as teacher or student is invaluable.
