Just few words about the tallies. There aren't so bad at all when you realize which
tread to pull. I use to have the worker thread a little bit longer or shorter to
remind me "Don't pull it without holding the others tight".

As I use to say to my students:
- Don't avoid it because you'll avoid also very pretty lace.
- It take only practice so, when you have a lace done and you still have thread
on your bobbins, practice on your little pattern with tallies (only tallies
continuously - one after one - if you don't have one - create it).
- When you start a pattern with new kinds of tallies (biggers, smallers,
croissant, square etc..) always make a sample of the tallies (using a copy of your
pattern, cut several tallies as they are and put them one after one). Practice with
this before doing the lace. Keep this pattern near to practice along the lace.
Sometime we could be very busy and couldn't make lace for a while so when you come
back to your pattern you can practice tallies a little before doing the lace.

NOW FOR THE NEWBIES - DON'T BE AFRAID YOU CAN DO IT - IT ONLY TAKE PRACTICE

You don't need to make a thousand before they look nice. I have a student who makes it
great after few classes and all my students are able to do very pretty ones at the end
of the Cluny classes.

If you avoid it you will mist a lot of very wonderful patterns.

Be courageous and practice now, it's worth it !

We still have snow this morning and the temperature dropped to -24 C yesterday...
But we still have sunshine in our heart ! !
