The little scissors with a bump on the end of one blade are called
Carrickmacross scissors.  The bump is there to lift the organdie away from
the net when you are trimming away the organdie from outside the design.
Carrickmacross lace is a layered lace, with organdie laid over net.  The
design is outlined with a cord - (crochet cotton), which is whipped down
along the line of the design.  The excess organdie is then cut away to show
the net - in between the flowers, for example, and then some fancy stitches
can be worked in areas on the net.  It is very pretty, but not very
substantial, and does not wash well - so is more to look at than use.
