Actually, I think it's more hazy than that. Liz owns the domain name "arachne.com" because she pays to keep her listing up to date, but if she lets the payments lapse, then anyone may claim it, as long as it's registered and paid for. A domain name is not in the same category as a copyrighted book or work of art.
This list is for the Arachne project that is going to be based on the theme of "seven", right? So why not just call it ArachneSeven or ArachneProject? "Arachne," the mythological name, cannot be claimed by any one person any more than Atlas, Troy, or Athena can. The Webshots account is Arachne2000, only because Arachne alone was already taken. Nowadays it's more a problem finding a unique username! So call this list whatever Arachne-related name you like. A lot of lists have sub-lists for things like sales and diets or other special interests. SpinList has SpinListSales, SheepThrills has LCLemmings and SheepThrillsExchanges (referred to, tongue-in-cheek, as the "sex change" list). It's an excellent idea to have a sister list because it allows focused discussion on a topic that might not be of interest to the entire list. I recommend that you keep it off the Yahoo directory, though, so that you don't get casual joiners.
