Last time we had this discussion, someone hung their pillows in bags from the ceiling. No one has admitted to that, yet, this time.

Anyway -- I used to put pillows on any surface that was available, until I knew I had to do something. I ordered a 'Pillow Rest' storage rack from Kenn van Dieren, only I had it customized. It has 10 shelves on it but only far enough apart for flat cookie pillows. So when I add a heavy wooden-framed block pillow on the base/feet of the rack, and my best travel pillow on top of the top pillow, I can get 12 pillows on the rack.

Fat Honiton and roller pillows are in a bookcase. (It used to contain my lace books until the shelves collapsed one day. I got a new bookcase, fixed the old one, and put the fat pillows there.) There are 3 fat pillows, plus an Italian pillow on the shelves. On top is a block pillow, a 12" (useless) cookie, and my first attempt at a travel pillow. The second attempt travel pillow is on a shelf under the TV.

Two 13" wooden backed pillows stand vertically between a chair and an end table. That leaves the new large/heavy/thick new roller pillow. I finally put it on top of my antique wood Chinese shoe box which holds by large balls and cones of thread because nothing else was big enough and strong enough to hold it.

Let's see -- that makes........23!!!! Good grief! I told someone I had 14. I guess if I eliminate the 5 that are useless, that would make 18 usable pillows. (Why is it that every time I get rid of a pillow, I either win, buy or are given 2 more??)

By the way, all these are in the living room, mostly on my side of the room. Except for the new student pillows that are stored in another room waiting for the students and which I did not count since I'm not using them.

PS -- the visitors at the county fair today were quite interested in the lacemaking, and so far the tatting lady has not shown up. We had several
people brave enough to try the Try Me pillow. I spent the day making a half stitch rose with red passives and a variegated pink worker thread. It's making the most interesting shaded rose I've ever made. I have only one inch to finish in the morning. I'm curious to see the finished rose.

Happy lacing,
