About 2 years ago, I tried using fishing line for spangling and liked
the results so much that that's all I use now. I went to my local shop
that caters to fishermen and fly-tiers and got the thinest line they
sold, which was an 8 pound test. I asked how much it cost a metre and
was asked how many metres I wanted. I figured 10 metres would do me for
years. The reply I got was 'Only 10 metres? Here, you can have it for
free.' Best purchase I ever made. In addition, the store was
fascinating - wonderful feathers of all sorts and colours, that I'm
still trying to figure out how to add to my lace, and lots of wild
coloured threads. If you're ever in the neighbourhood of one of these
shops, do drop in.
