Nature You need to be careful on cross stitch fabric that you get "even weave". If you buy just linen, it is quite uneven in places. Especially where the slubs come in you usually have a very fine thread next to it in places. I have found it very easy to miss that fine thread and cross over three threads instead of two. And yes it is usually expensive.
