Weronika,
The 'Complete Book of English laces' is the same as 'The Technique of
BL' - both by Nottingham. It's the same book published under a
different title - 'Complete...' book I think is the US version of the
'Technique...' (UK version.) They have different OCLC numbers and
different publishers ("Complete..." is Van Nostrand Reinhold I think,
and "Technique..." is Larousse or something). If you have Technique,
you don't need Complete.
I have the Jennie Fisher Beds book and it's OK. Many of the patterns
are more 'modern', as opposed to the very traditional ones, one finds in
any of the Underwood books, Turner's book or the Nottingham beds book.
Ann Colliers books are always good and worth getting. Dawson is a solid
text for novices. Maidment has been around a long time (since the mid
70's I think), and is a decent book. Haven't looked at it in a long
time, but it's fairly instructional in the basics as I recall, and
covers a range of BL's (hope I'm not confusing it with Tebb's book.).
Cheers,
Helen, Aussie in Denver
