Could the coupler be similar to the connectors used in drip sprinkler 
systems? For that matter, could you use 1/4" drip tubing (comes in colors: 
black, white, terra cotta, green)?

And if you are using the tubing from a cannula, there is another part of it 
that is like a miniature elongated cone that fits securely over the tip of 
a pair of 3.5" scissors.
