I have a book called "Three-dimensional Crochet" by Sachiko Yamamoto written in Japanese and English, pub 2002 by the author. Floral motifs, a bit like Irish crochet but worked in bright colours using Cotton Perle for dress, parasol, bag and household decoration.
The designs are a bit twee but the instructions are very good with both diagrams and written instructions in both languages. Sachiko speaks absolutely NO English but she's a regular delegate at the UK Lace Guild Conventions - always has an interpreter with her.
I wonder what other book treasures are out there in Japanese? My friend says finding anything to do
with lace (she tats and does bobbin lace) in Japan is extremely difficult.
