Dear Lacemakers, especially the IOLI Convention Committee in Denver, My current Fashion Society of America newsletter tells of the following exhibit. Perhaps one of the ladies in Denver can comment as to quality of exhibit and lace content?
"The Colorado History Museum in Denver has just opened a new exhibit showcasing its premier collection of historic dolls. "Oh, You Beautiful Doll!" will run through April 2006 and features over 100 dolls from the Bernice Lang Collection. Dolls dating from the early 1700s through the 1930s are showcased in the exhibition. Two "adult" garments from the late 19th century are included in the exhibition to represent the fashions from the period associated with the French fashion dolls." The Costume Society gave this web site, but it was slow to load and seemed to be a place to buy books. http://www.coloradohistory.com Denver Lacemakers: It might be possible to promote your lace guild at this museum, if you have brochures. If they have brochures, and the doll exhibit is very nice, their brochures might be added to convention goodie bags?? Sorry that I'm too far away to check this out for you.
