For those who have more control over their pocket snakes than Tamara,
I'd like to share some words of wisdom from a lecture I recently
attended on thread. The lecturer was the president/CEO of a thread
company devoted to machine sewing/embroidery (Superior Threads). He
pointed out that the audience (quiltmakers and machine embroiderers)
spend literally thousands on their sewing machines, buy the fanciest
fabrics, and then try to save a buck by buying budget thread. That's
like buying a Ferrari and putting "El Cheapo" watered-down gas in it.

You're making heirloom stuff! You spend plenty on the bobbins and the
pillow and the books and the accessory tools, don't try to cut corners
on the thread. Thread, even the fancy stuff, is cheap! A USD10 spool
of linen has hundreds of yards of thread on it, so why shortchange
yourself a yard or two on the bobbins?
