My DH, who got me that 3 Lacemakers print someone posted about a few months ago, decided that asking me what I wanted for Christmas was futile (since my standard answer is "I don't need anything"), and got it framed as my gift (I'll get him to hang it as a Valentine gift, maybe <g>).
And DS sprang a truly lovely surprise. While he was in Holland this summer, I asked him to get me 75xLace catalogue at the Rijksmuseum. He wrote back to tell me he didn't get my message till after he came back from Amsterdam (he was based in Utrecht), sorry. But today, he flew in (on a red eye from San Francisco) and the first thing he did was pull it out from is backpack: "can't tell you how happy I was when I got back to Utrecht and discovered that the book I got for you was exactly the one you wanted." said the dear child...
