Hi,
Went shopping today for storage boxes. Here in California, USA our Target
and Kmart stores had big sales on different kinds of plastic storage boxes.
The wreath boxes sounded great for storing your bobbin lace pillows. The
ones at Target seemed to be the biggest and nicest until I looked at them.
They had a raised section that went through the center of the wreath and
your pillow couldn't lay flat in them. The ones at Kmart were smaller but
had flat bottoms. Your 16" and 18" pillows fit just fine in these. Great
to store those pillows not in use and keep them clean.
At Target I got a couple of the ornament boxes, as they had the clear
plastic sides with cardboard dividers. I tried all my different size balls
of thread and they all will fit including the DMC size 10 balls.
Each box will hold 45 balls of thread. There is three tiers of squares and
I thought I would put thread in all the outer sections so I can see what
colors I have. At this time I'll leave the three center sections empty or
maybe put in duplicates of a color that is on the outside. This way I'll be
able to see just what colors I have and I'll label the outside of the box
with the size thread that's inside. I noticed that the tiers were a little
difficult to lift out so I'm going to glue some ribbon on each tier bottom
so that I can just lift each layer out easily. Sounds like it will work
great. Won't know for sure until I've used them for a while.
