I remember reading those writeups! Then there was the photo of the
wedding party where the bridal team all wore mini-skirts with long
cutaway jackets, and yes all in lacey fabric. The top was modest but
such a lot of leg. It was more tacky than shocking.

It is interesting the changing face of lace, and the popular
'understanding' - such as, as you say, the latter habit of  giving it
a French name, regardless of what it really was. If there was any
reference to the lace at all in the M-C magazine, next time I need
eggs and avocados, I'll have to pick up a copy of the magazine too,
LOL.
