OK Tatters Everywhere,

It's time to get to work and get serious about this Mascot.

I need help getting out the word to every tatter, possible. Around the world. There are many tatters that are not on the internet. We have to get word to them. There are a number of tatting guilds and groups listed in the IOLI Bulletin. Since I'm a member of IOLI, I feel I can contact those listed by e-mail and the few that don't have e-mails listed I can send a note to. I know there are a number of other groups that are not listed. We need to get word to them. I'm hoping that there is at least one member of each of these groups that is on one of our lists. That they will get the word to their members. I know there are a number of newsletters being put out and I know that most of the editors belong to at least one of our lists. Will you please be kind enough to put a blurb in your newsletter that we will soon be voting for a mascot.? So, please help me get the word out.

I'm sure the different lists don't want to be bombarded with the votes. So now, here is my problem. I could have the votes sent to me but that wouldn't be considered fair. I figure that there should be three to five people from around the world to count the votes to be sure the voting is honest. I thought that to begin with, we would do a primary vote and pick the top three vote getters, then a final vote on those three. Most votes gets chosen.

I do not have a web site to do anything like this. I have seen sites where people can vote on something and the vote is automatically counted and somehow they can tell if you try to vote more than once.
I have no idea how this works.

Any help along these lines or any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Also a volunteer, possibly?

At last count there were 16 suggested mascots named. I think that is more than enough to get started. When it gets closer to the time for voting, I'll publish the list along with a little information as to why someone thought it would make a good mascot.

Also, for you information, Dale Palmroy has contacted me and said, with his library of more than 400 books, he is very sure there never was an official mascot for tatters. Mark (Tat Man) has let it be know that his Muskatats, Squirrel, and others of his cartoons can be used.

So, the first step is to get the word out to as many tatters as possible.

Please HELP ! !
