I have been in contact with the seller several times today and her replies
are below.

>All the patterns I am selling belonged to my mother who now has alzheimer's
disease and
>the are all original purchases she has made from either the Lace Guild or
another source

The next one stated:-

>Hi and thank you for your reply. I totally respect your wishes but am
unable to stop the
> auction as somebody has bid on the pattern now. I will obviously explain
the position to the
>winning buyer and will ensure that the pattern is not sold. My mother is
devastated that she
>may have got me into trouble as she has assured me that she bought all the
patterns I am
>selling for her but as I pointed out she is not very well.

Whether anyone chooses to believe the explanation is not for me to say.

I've also contacted the bidder to explain the situation. I haven't heard
yet if the seller has, in fact, ensured that the pattern is not sold. My
personal opinion is this: I am well aware that photocopying does go on but
I'm am annoyed to think that someone may be profiting from this - after all,
what does it cost to photocopy? 5p Postage? 29p + cost of envelope. Total
34p. E-bay £2.49. good business.

I await developments.

On a positive note, I will be going to demonstrate at Blandford Georgian
Fair tomorrow. This will mark the destruction by fire of all but 5
buildings in the old town (1731) and its rebuilding in the (then)latest
architectural style. It’s a beautiful country town centre now.

Time to get the stuff together.
