If you're a member of IOLI, the next (July) Bulletin will have a drawing/short instructions on how to wrap and securely finish off a wire (use a Magic Loop . I think tatters have been using that technique for ages). But I'm not sure how useful it will be vis-a-vis spangling. Spangles are best when the beads are tightly packed, and I think that the "wrap and pull with Magic Loop" method needs a bit of room to maneouvre.
