Hi Julie,

In Belgium we use a product called "apprêt feutre", i.e. the liquid that was
used to stiffen felt hats. With a soft brush, you apply it on your lace
before taking it off the pillow. As it is now already off your pillow, you
should fix it onto another base, so it can dry in shape.

One can also use a sugar solution, just sugar in water. But then better wash
it out afterwards, as bugs might like to start eating the lace together with
the sugar.

Anyway, be careful in wet conditions, as it will become limp again.

You can't sew just one thread (filament) taken from the inside of an
electric wire, around the top edge, and arrange a few supports from base to
top at the inside?

I wish you good luck! Just let us know how you solved the problem .

Last year, I also made my daughters wedding gown myself, but I only had made
the covering of the ring pllow in bobbin lace. That was easier.

Rose.
