Janice, the patches fix a couple of very basic problems - and I seem to remember that when you first bought your programme, I sent you the patches, but that for some reason, you had trouble installing them. At that stage, my suspicion was that, instead of letting Lace 2000 instal itself in the standard way, your son might've renamed the folder or something, which meant from this distance, I couldn't tell you how to instal the patches.
Your basic version of the programme is 1.4. However, the version being sold now is 1.4rev2, and the patches on Ian's site are designed to bring the very first programmes sold up to the standard issue being sold today. If you click on "Help" and then "About Lace Designer" the bluey-green screen will say in big letters "Version 1.4" but in the left-hand bottom corner of that screen, does it say anything else (in tiny black writing)?? Looking at the website patches available I don't see 1.4 listed. Do I need to install either of the patches shown? Any idea what these patches were for?
