I've been mostly a lurker on the list for many years (10 or 11), but ironically now that I have a baby and no time I feel like being a lot more social, so: I just started a Christmas ornament from one of Brigitte Bellon's books, a simple snowflake. It is going so quickly! I project it will only take 12 hours of work. It is the fastest lace I've ever made, chosen because I'm a mom now and need smaller projects. Now if only I were using the right size thread. I'm thinking of Xeroxing it at 90% and doing another one. Before that I did a square from the Bromley lacemakers' lace tablecloth prickings as part of Liberty Lacers' table runner project. Additionally, I still have a half-size Russian tape lace doily on the other pillow, now well more than half done but not compelling enough to work on primarily :) The Christmas ornament is addictive. It's like instant gratification. Someday I will return to finer, fiddlier things, but this large-scale work is kind of fun.
