I remember my first attempt at a portable pillow. It's still on my shelf. But that's another story. Last year, I figured out how I could trim a One and Only Pillow to fit in an 18" suitcase. I cut a slice off the top edge, above the block area, that was 2-3/4" deep at the center. This area is not really used for anything, and trimming it narrows the depth of the pillow enough to fit an 18" wide suitcase. I trimmed off the cardboard bottom to fit. This actually makes an attractive pillow, a circle with one flattened edge which gives it an oval appearance. The center block area is not affected at all by the trimming. Good luck with your pillow making. See you at Sweet Briar.
