Pene is a very experienced lacemaker, and I am certain she would have tested her denim fabric to be sure the blue does not rub off inside or outside. However, for others thinking of using denim - remember that it does have a habit of losing some of the blue dye on things. This was reinforced when someone with dark blue jeans came to my home and sat on a white sofa. At one lace convention, we were given pretty blue tote bags. I remember that the blue rubbed off on the light-colored clothing ladies were wearing. Beware of materials you select, especially if very dark in color. If you wish to use it, test it first by rubbing something like a white towel across the surface to see if the dye transfers.
