Patty has already suggested Aurora silks. Their Nm 20/2 Fine 2 ply tussah
silk is 12 wraps/c; similar thickness to cotton Perle 5. Is that what you
are looking for? or do you want a very fine thread?
If you are happy with cotton perle 5, you can get some lovely colours from:

Then go to weaving yarns. Mini-cones carry 800 yards and cost $8.35. the
colours are lovely, and I am very pleased with the scarf I made in this yarn
