We're dry, our house is on high ground, but other parts of Tamworth have been affected, roads closed, etc. Getting to my Newton Regis class and back tonight was a case of (DH) driving through water - yesterday it would have been impassible. At least this time the warnings were early enough for the pub in the middle of this to get the sandbags in place on Saturday and declare Sunday closed. The swans are enjoying the extension to their normal territory on the two rivers that run through the town centre, where the flood plains are about field width and well and truly under water.
After "round one", our local paper printed photographs from years past, when the town centre flooded on a regular basis, most winters. Work has been done on the storm drains since, but the rivers still decide who goes where! Has anyone heard anything from Angela Thompson recently, Worcester has been hard hit but I think she is up on higher ground? I know she had problems when Worcester flooded last year. -- Jane Partridge - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
