Hello Debbie,

I hope you will not wait too long to get started on this wonderfully frustrating little design! Perfection is something to personally strive for, but not necessarily to demand from yourself. I have been told that when the Amish are working their needlework, that they put a mistake in on purpose because they believe perfection belongs only to God.

Still laughing about "frustrating" - I don't think it's THAT bad :-).

Thank you for your explanations! Now I'm totally confused as to how I should do that edging :-) Putting twists on both sides of the gimp to make it stand out more (in contrast to make it cuddle against the cloth stitch) is a good argument - and if it's the traditional method I'd rather use that.

Nice attitude of the Amish (it could be interpreted as snobbish, though) - but I'm shure I don't have to put in mistakes on purpose. They will prolly happen anyway.

Best, Achim.
