At my local lace group I was chatting to Betty, our librarian.  She has been
working on a project to reproduce laces from some bed linen at a local
stately home, Dunham Massey, where she volunteers.  Her interest is to draw
out the prickings from copies of the lace and work out how the original was
made then make a short length of the lace.  The original pieces of lace were
made by the lady of the house - almost certainly with assistance from the
house staff.  Eventually Betty's work will become a display at the house.

There are three pieces of lace to reproduce.  Two are complete.  The thread
used was DMC Cordonnet Special 70 in white.  This project has been going on
so long Betty no longer knows where the original ball came from, which is a
problem as it is clear she does not have enough to complete the third piece
of lace.  Enquiries so far have turned up lots of size 60, but only ecru in
70.  So can anyone please tell me which UK suppliers carry this thread?
