This from Marji this morning for those who may be worrying about the situation in California. She lives near San Diego where things are pretty bad. I doubt that she will be getting email for a bit, though I could be wrong, but we can certainly hope that things calm down soon.

<We had a mandatory evacuation late this afternoon and I am at my son's home. Even here the air is thick with smoke and there are ashes everywhere. I don't think my home is in danger, but one can never tell as with these high winds (75 mph) the sparks can travel great distances in short times. So for now, I will stay where I am as they have air conditioning and air filters to keep the smoke down.>

Tess ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) in Maine, where we haven't even yet had to have a fire in the woodstove--no frost to date, very late for us.
