This is ridiculous. Any office supply store sells postage scales. Put 
the item(s) in whatever container they will be mailed, put it on the 
scale and you have the weight. Go to either the post office website or 
UPS or FedEx or whatever shipping company and you can tell almost to the 
penny how much it will cost.

You were ripped off no matter how she want to sugar coat it.
