I have used rayon several times in my lace. The hitch is a bother but
it works beautifully.
I have also used DMC sewing poyester and had very good results. I
guess unless you try and use the different types of threads found
nowadays you really can't be sure if they work or don't.
I usually make my first trials on booksmarks and if I'm satisfied
with the results I move on.
