I have used polyester thread , and used a polycotton, or polyester thread
for the Dress cap, as featured on the cover of a Barbara Underwood book. As
my hair is white, I did not want to make a white cap, so used the polycotton
in Navy to make it. It never needs ironing! (Beauty!!) the thread had a
mind of it's own, though, and the half-hitch did not always stay put, but
otherwise it has been a very successful experiment.
I will certainly use it again, if necessary.
I also used some very silky, shiney thread, that was Far too slithery, -
(especially when trying to work tallies!), and I have never used anything
like that again.
I have a cone of Isacord to use up. It is a bit stretchy, though. Hmm! It
has sat here for quite a while, but I might experiment with it one day!
Has anyone tried using it? I know my daughter Helen, has!! She gave me
her left over cone, so maybe she did not like it either!!!!!!!!!!!!
